Juliet is Cute

Sophisms

Here are a few "Sophisms" for you:

"I lost my daddy." (I say this when I feel sad that daddy is at work).

"That bear sucks me." (I say this about a particular blue stuffed animal bear that I do not like).

"Where's Katie been?" (I said this in reference to my auntie Katie who I had not seen for several months).

"One parent is leaving." (I said this as daddy left for work one morning).

"Huh??" (I say this instead of "what").

"Daddy, I like you." (I say this when I am particularly happy with daddy).

"Mommy, you are my friend." (I say this when I am particularly happy with mommy).

"Mommy, set Juliet outside and leave her." (I said this when I felt a little sad about not getting all of the attention).

"I love Juliet. I help change diapers." (I say this when I am feeling like a proud big sister).

"Here comes Peter PoppenPail, hopping down the bunny trail..." (My misunderstood version of the song).

New Short Hair Cut

I got a haircut! I had been telling mommy and daddy that I really wanted to get my haircut. I just wanted to get a haircut so that I could have a sucker, which the hairdresser gives out. I was not scared at all and sat there patiently watching "Happy Feet" and licking my sucker. Mommy had the hairdresser cut my hair several inches. This short haircut is much easier to manage, especially because I do not really let mommy or daddy do anything with my hair. Sometimes they will get a barrette in my hair in the morning or pigtails, but I usually pull them out within about an hour. (The hairdresser put that cute braid in my hair in the picture above).

Juliettie

Ever since Juliet was born, she has made a sound like a high-pitched wheezing along with a low-pitch "mmmm.....mmmm...mmmm..." whenever she is happy and content. She usually is the most happy and content nursing or pooping! It kind of reminds me of a kitty's purr. She does not make the sound quite as much any more. Instead, she make a whole variety of "googoo, gaagaa, and cooo" noises and a million different kinds of shrieks and giggles.

Part II: Sweet

Here are the pictures of me looking sweet. When mommy took the pictures she told me to look like I was a princess. (P.S. I picked-out this outfit myself!)

Here is another story for you. In two of the pictures above, I am sitting in a plastic bin filled with about 30 stuffed animals. I adore these stuffed animals and often call them my "friends" or my "pets." The bin is quite heavy, but I can drag it around the house. Yesterday, mommy was nursing Juliet on one end of the couch and Kiwi (our cat) was sleeping at the other end of the couch. I dragged the bin of stuffed animals over to the couch and asked mommy to help my get it onto the couch. Mommy pulled it onto the couch. I looked at Kiwi and said "Get ready, kitty cat!" and started to tip the bin of stuffed animals onto the cat. At this point, mommy realized my intention to dump the entire bin of animals on Kiwi and stopped me from doing it. I was really disappointed. Mommy was laughing so hard that I finally had to tell her "stop laughing!" Yet another brilliant plan thwarted by mommy.

Part I: Silly

I wanted to take a bunch of silly pictures today. Mommy said that she would take some pictures of me being silly only if I would look like a princess in some other pictures. I obliged. This blog entry is of the pictures of me being silly. Also, I included another picture of Bunny-Bun, who I photographed myself.
I have a story for you. Yesterday, Mommy came into my bedroom in the morning and she was wearing a new headband. I looked at mommy and the first thing that I said was, "I do not like that thing in your hair. I do not like it." The next thing I said was, "I want it. I want to wear it." Mommy let me try it on later and I bugged her about it for the rest of the day!

A few more Easter pictures

I could not resist putting these last few Easter pictures on the blog taken by Auntie Lindsay.
Today we went to the Minnesota zoo. Here is a tip for anyone planning on going to the Minnesota zoo: Do not take the Monorail ride around the zoo. It is mind-numbingly boring. Mommy and daddy asked if I wanted to take a "train ride." That sounded fantastic to me---I was picturing something along the lines of a rollar-coaster. As it turns out, the Monorail never went faster than 5 miles per hour, often came to a complete stop, and went past animals that we could barely see out of our windows. I kept on saying, "Go faster! Go faster!" When that did not work, I said "Get me off of this train!" That had to have been the most boring 25 minutes of my life!
At the zoo, I was lucky enough to see a baby bunny and pet it! I keep telling mommy and daddy that I want a bunny "for a pet." It is not looking promising. We have Kiwi the cat for a pet, but she does not count. I want a cute, fluffy little bunny for my pet.
My baby sister continues to be super cute. I have nick-named her "Juliettie." Mommy and daddy wanted to nick-name her "Jewel," but I would have none of that. Everytime they say "Jewel" I say, "NO! Juli-ET." However, everyone may call her Juliettie, if they so choose.

Finger Painting

Today we did finger painting, which turned into hand painting, which turned into table painting, which turned into clothes painting. Mommy was nursing Juliet, so there was nothing she could do about it (hee hee).
I had kind of a rough night tonight. I woke up screaming and screaming. Mommy rushed-in and asked what was wrong. Mommy had forgotten to turn on the night light! I woke up and it was so dark and I got so scared! Even Bunny Bun was scared. I did not want to go back to sleep, even after mommy turned on the night light. So, daddy came into my room and talked to me for a little while. We talked about all of my favorite things. Here is what he asked me and here is how I answered:
Favorite color: Blue
Favorite animal: Bunny Bun
Favorite food: Meatballs.
Favorite song: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Favorite tv show: The Koala Brothers
Favorite mommy: Mommy

I am definitely going to have to remind mommy to turn on that night light!

Juliet in the sling

Mommy wears Juliet in the sling a lot during the day. It keeps Juliet from getting fussy and allows mommy's hands to be free to play fun games with me!

On Monday, Juliet had her 2 month doctor's appointment with Dr. Mackey. Juliet weighs 11 pounds 2 ounces, and is 22.5 inches. The nurse weighed me for fun and I weigh 32 pounds! Juliet is a lot littler than me (or "little dittle" as I have been saying lately). I played with a lot of the doctor's equipment. I checked mommy's eyes and her ears. And, I watched Dr. Mackey very carefully as she checked-out Juliet. Juliet cried a lot when the nurse gave her three shots in the leg for her vaccinations. I felt pretty sad for her. After the doctor's appointment we went to McDonalds, which I call "Old MacDonalds," as a special treat.
